My Canon Pixma IP1000 has "Waste Ink Full" by the blinking orange-led.
These steps works for me :
# 1: Disconnect the printer from AC power
# 2: Press and HOLD the POWER button, and connect the printer to AC power
# 3: Release the POWER button
# 4: Press the POWER button again
